Goal: less CO2 emissions and less waste at the nursery

Reusable trays with less potting soil are becoming the standard at Vromans

Last year, nursery Vromans started with reusable 104 and 144 hole trays, developed in collaboration with M-Plastics - a major sustainability project. The next step has been taken this year. The traditional 9-centimeter pots have been completely banned and replaced by one new and reusable tray. 'The grower's package of requirements was challenging', says Paul Schildmeijer, director of M-Plastics. The nursery, with an area of ??80 hectares, is now working with the new trays, which contain less substrate and can be stored and transported more efficiently. Major advantages are also achieved in internal and external logistics.
